Paddy Power, the fifth-largest retail operator in the United Kingdom, will join the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s growing list of co-mingling partners beginning with the 2017/18 racing season, which opens Sunday at Sha Tin Racecourse.

The co-mingling of bets from the United Kingdom into Hong Kong’s pari-mutuel pools, the world’s largest on a per-race basis, commenced in November 2016 when Betfred, Coral, Ladbrokes and William Hill began accepting the tote-only wagers.

Hong Kong’s turnover from co-mingling partners grew 87% last season, totaling HK$6.5 billion which accounted for more than five percent of the Club’s total turnover from racing.
