Dolan likely for Mustang Valley

The Andrew Forsman-trained Mustang Valley (NZ) (Vanbrugh) will most likely be ridden by Robbie Dolan in the Gr.1 Doncaster Mile (1600m).

The Group One winning daughter of Vanbrugh has 51kgs in the time-honoured handicap, where only two runners in the 20-horse field — Alligator Blood (All Too Hard) (57.5kg) and Mr Brightside (NZ) (Bullbars) (55.5kg) — carry more than 54kgs.

The scratching of Kirwan’s Lane (NZ) (Charm Spirit) has paved the way for Osipenko (NZ) (Pierro) (49kgs) to gain a start, with Michael Dee booked to ride.

Dolan has a commitment to fourth emergency Pride Of Jenni (Pride of Dubai) should she gain a start, but Racing NSW Stewards have given permission for Dolan to be declared as the rider of Mustang Valley in the interim, given there are no jockeys available to ride at the weight.
