An extra race has been added to each of the new season's first two city meetings in Melbourne after Saturday's Bletchingly Stakes programme was abandoned midway because of dangerous winds.

The Gr. 3 Bletchingly Stakes has been added to Sunday's Sandown card, which also features the Grand National Hurdle and Crisp Steeplechase.

A lucrative four-year-old open handicap over 2000 metres has been added to Saturday's Flemington meeting, which will now feature 10 races.The four-year-old handicap has a stake of A$120,000 race and also carries a Super VOBIS bonus of A$30,000 and a VOBIS Gold bonus worth A$20,000.

Nominations for nine of the 10 Flemington races closed yesterday but entries for the additional race are open until noon today. Entries for Sandown also close today.
