Allan Sharrock is noticing a far more mature Tutta La Classe in training as the last-start winner prepares to take her campaign to black-type level.

The New Plymouth conditioner has stepped up the workload for the Per Incanto filly ahead of Saturday's Rayner Building 2YO (1200m) at Awapuni, a race that will serve as a dress rehearsal for the Listed Courtesy Ford Ryder Stakes (1200m) at the same track three weeks later.

"She was a bit soft in condition going into that last run and we've worked her over more ground going to this harder race over more distance," Sharrock said.

"She’s coped with it really well and we've seen just how much it has brought her on. She seems like an older galloper now in her work.

"We've been working back from the Ryder Stakes with her and this race gives us three weeks between races and we've still got the blinkers to go on for that race. She won't have the blinkers on for this one but I'd be disappointed if she didn't run in the first couple."

Tutta La Classe finished second in her first two starts before a clinical win at Trentham over 1000m last start under jockey Lisa Allpress, who retains the ride on Saturday.

One of those second placings was behind stablemate London Express, who won't be tackling the Ryder Stakes, with Sharrock preferring to spell the Shamexpress filly ahead of a tilt at the Listed O'Leary Fillies Stakes (1200m) at Wanganui on September 8.

That was a race won by Dijon Bleu last year on her way to winning the NZB Filly of the Year title.

"They could both go there," Sharrock said, adding that the Naki Challenge, a $101,000 special conditions maiden to be run at New Plymouth on August 25, could also be on Tutta La Classe's programme.

Tutta La Classe's owner Chris Thompson has secured a slot in the race under his Kaipikari Thoroughbreds banner.

Later on Saturday's Awapuni card, Sharrock will look to capable winter galloper Darci Mac to produce a strong performance in the Norwood Farm Machinery Centre Handicap (1400m) to convince him he is worthy of a start in Listed Powerworx Opunake Cup (1400m) at New Plymouth on July 21.

"He's going well but he's probably striking fields that are marginally better than him," Sharrock said.

"We're hoping he goes well and he can run in the Opunake Cup on his home track, though Art Deco will still be my number one seed for that. If he went average this weekend, we could look at the open 1200m race on Ryder Stakes day."
