Well-regarded filly Stella Noire will be chasing black type features in the new season.

Stella Noire - Trish Dunell

“She’ll probably kick off at Ruakaka in a three-year-old race over 1000m in the first week of September and then the fillies’ races, she’s pretty talented,” trainer Tony Pike said.

The daughter of Showcasing was put aside following her successful debut at Ellerslie on Boxing Day and was again turned out after an eight and a-half length trial win at Cambridge earlier last month.

Meanwhile, stablemate Cyber Attack will step out in Saturday’s two-year-old event at Te Rapa.

“He’ll go there and then head to the Ryder Stakes,” Pike said. “He handles wet tracks.”

Cyber Attack has won one of his four starts and was a last-start runner-up in the Listed Auckland Futurity Stakes (1400m).
