The well-travelled Jackfrost has made an immediate impression in his new role.

The grey made a successful jumping debut on Wednesday for Brian and Shane Anderton when he bolted away with the Trevino’s Restaurant & Bar Maiden Hurdles at Riccarton.

“He’s taken to it like a duck to water, it was a good effort,” Shane Anderton said. “We’ll see how he is and look at the last day and might line up again.”

Jackfrost won five times on the flat for David and Emma Haworth before he transferred south to Andrew Carston and subsequently to the Andertons.
