Mystery Show will hit the road later this week in her quest for a maiden black type victory.

Mystery Show - Trish Dunell

The talented three-year-old has understandably made a strong impression on her new trainer, who believes he has found a gilt-edged Group Two opportunity for the filly at Trentham on Saturday.

"She'll run in the Wellington Guineas, the 1400 metres should suit her ideally at this stage," Stephen Marsh said.

Mystery Show made a memorable first appearance from his Cambridge operation at Avondale last month with a hard-fought victory over 1200 metres.

"It was quite a tough run and she had to dig deep and she showed her class," Marsh said.

"She has bounced back well and she's peaches and cream now."

The daughter of Sakhee's Secret was previously prepared by the former Byerley Park trainer James Bridge and she won two of her six starts for him.

She also finished third at Hastings in the Gr.3 Gold Trail Stakes behind Honey Rider and at Ellerslie in the Listed Soliloquy Stakes to Astara.

Mystery Show's only unplaced effort came when she finished seventh, and less than four lengths off the winner La Diosa, in the Gr.1 New Zealand 1000 Guineas at Riccarton.

Bridge has subsequently cut his numbers and returned to Hawke's Bay, hence Mystery Show's transfer to Marsh.

"She came to me as a ready-made filly and she's a very good one," he said.

"It will be nice to get a stakes win with her, hopefully at Trentham. She would love a bit of moisture around as well."
