Since August, New Zealand Bloodstock has conducted its Ready to Run Sale Trainers Series races, with a spread of domestic trainers earning the beneficial prize package on offer.

In late October, NZB announced that due to the ongoing pandemic, this year’s Ready to Run Sale will take place virtually and is set to be held at Te Rapa Racecourse on 17 and 18 November, commencing at 1PM (NZT) each day.

The trainers of each winning horse have received support from NZB to attend this year’s Ready to Run Sale. However, due to closed borders and COVID-19 restrictions, attendance at the Sale will be limited.

In recognition of this, NZB will still honour the travel voucher gifted to Ready to Run Sale Trainers Series winners, should the trainer purchase at the Sale. Likewise, the NZB Insurance voucher, Majestic Horse Transport floating voucher and RACEFORM subscription will also be honoured towards any purchase at the Sale.

A strong supporter of domestic trainers, NZB has been assisting winning trainers of its sponsored races for several years.

Karen and John Parsons were notable winners in 2016, attended that year’s Ready to Run Sale and purchasing a Sebring colt for $31,000, which they subsequently named Letsbringiton. He appropriately won on Saturday 6 November at Riccarton, claiming his sixth race win and bringing his stakes earnings to just under $100,000.

The Parsons were also successful with the Letsbringiton’s stable mate Colossal(NZ) (Foxwedge), who claimed the $30,000 Ready to Run Sale Trainers Series H. (1600m) on 23 October at Riccarton as well as a valuable prize package towards this year’s Ready to Run Sale.

The 2021 Ready to Run Sale Trainers Series has been well received by domestic trainers, with several indicating their intention to purchase at the Sale and take advantage of the lucrative bonus package won through the race series.
