Go Racing manager Albert Bosma is excited about the prospects of stakes winning juvenile Exuberant this season.

“He’s being set for the New Zealand 2000 Guineas (Gr.1, 1600m) in November,” Bosma said of the Stephen Marsh charge.
“He’s proved himself to be a Group-quality horse with plenty of improvement in him so we are excited about the challenges in front of him this campaign.”
Exuberant scored on debut in the Listed Wellesley Stakes (1000m) as a two-year-old, before placing in the Gr.3 Eclipse Stakes (1200m) behind Whiskey Neat and Aotea Lad.
He subsequently finished ninth in the Karaka Million (1200m) won by Probabeel before a spell.
The son of Savabeel has made a promising start to his three-year-old career finishing third to Double Impact when resuming over 1000 metres at Ruakaka when carrying top-weight, and then finishing runner-up in the Gr.3 Northland Breeders’ Stakes (1200m) at the same venue.
“He was beaten by Catalyst who looks a bit of a superstar and the horse to beat this spring,” Bosma said.
“It is still a long way to go to the 2000 Guineas and we are looking forward to getting him over longer distances and seeing how he performs. That will be the test to see if he can get a mile but being by Savabeel the indications are that he will.”
Exuberant’s next start is the Gr.2 Sacred Falls Hawke’s Bay Guineas (1400m) on October 5 with Danielle Johnson booked to ride.
