Multiple stakes-winning filly Melt has plenty of black-type options ahead of her heading to her main target of the spring, the Gr.1 Gavelhouse.com New Zealand 1000 Guineas (1600m) in November.

The three-year-old pleased her trainer Nigel Tiley with her fresh-up win in the Tavistock at Cambridge Stud (1000m) at Ruakaka earlier this month and he said she has two black-type options within the next fortnight.

They include the Gr.3 Cambridge Stud Northland Breeders’ Stakes (1200m) at Ruakaka on Saturday or the Gr.3 Hawke’s Bay Breeders Gold Trail Stakes (1200m) at Hastings the following week.

“I am very happy with her, she came through it really well,” Tiley said.

“There is a possibility I may run her on Saturday at Ruakaka again, but that will all depend on what she draws and what I think of the field. Otherwise she will go to the Gold Trail Stakes.”
