Rising nine-year-old Itsagem has earned a reprieve.

The out of form mare was threatened with retirement before she returned to winning form at Wanganui on Thursday for trainer Lisa Latta.

“Isn’t it uncanny - she’ll live to fight another day now,” owner Andy Rennie said.

Itsagem has now won five races and her latest success was a memorable one for Latta.

“This will mean a lot to Lisa, it’s her 900th winner,” Rennie said.

In a week for training milestones, Riccarton conditioner Michael Pitman brought up his 1700th success when Mathieu was successful at Ashburton.
