Flying Sardine is seen as Kelvin Tyler’s best chance of further success in the Gr.3 Winter Cup (1600m) at Riccarton during the Grand National carnival.

“I’ve got five nominated, but he’s probably our best chance,” the Riverton trainer said.

Tyler’s 2015 upset winner Timy Tyler, who scored at odds of 46-1, is among the entries but the seven-year-old has since been a source of frustration.

“He’s not going bad races and I can’t fault him, but he’s forgotten how to win,” he said.
