Windsor Park Stud shuttle stallion Charm Spirit is off to a good start at stud, siring his fifth individual juvenile winner at Salisbury on Wednesday.

Two-year-old colt Foresti won the Whitsbury Manor Stud British 2YO Blagrave Maiden Stakes (1400m) by a short-head over Dombra with a further two lengths back to Momkin in third.

He joins The Paddocks, Charming Kid, Oberyn Martell and Diviner as Charm Spirit’s other juvenile winners.

“It’s pretty exciting stuff,” Windsor Park Stud Principal Rodney Schick said. “He has got some exciting horses up there (in Europe). It’s really encouraging for his first crop down here.

“We have had a lot of good feedback from the breakers, so there are exciting times in store next season.”

Schick said he was happy with how well Charm Spirit’s first crop of southern hemisphere yearlings sold at the sales this year.

“He sold really well. He sold up to $400,000 and he’s certainly left some good types. The encouraging thing is they are going to good judges like Guy Mulcaster and Ciaron Maher.”

Charm Spirit will return to Windsor Park Stud this coming breeding season where his service fee will be P.O.A.
