Hawke’s Bay trainer John Bary has experienced Group One glory in Australia with Jimmy Choux and he is hoping to repeat the dose with his half-sister Miss Wilson in the Gr.1 Tattersall’s Club Tiara (1350m) at Doomben on Saturday.

“It’s exciting to be back over here having a go and having another crack at the Aussies,” Bary said.

“She has travelled really well which is the important thing. She obviously had a lovely trial and worked really well yesterday, so we are in the mix. We are happy with our gate (10) so we will see what happens. With the emergencies out she will come into gate eight.”

Kiwi jockey Vinnie Colgan will cross the Tasman to take the ride on the last-start Gr.1 NZ Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes (1600m) winner.

“She’s a last-start Group One winner, so that has enhanced her value no-end,” Bary said. “It’s just genuinely exciting to be here against the Aussies and test ourselves and see how good we are.”
