Ruakaka trainer Kenny Rae believes his stable has a great chance of winning the Listed Ryder Stakes (1200m) next month.

Rae, who trains in partnership with wife Lisa and their daughter Krystal Williams, said he has five promising two-year-old’s in his barn, but highlights Keeper gelding Keep The Cash as the stables main hope.

“I have got five two-year-old’s at home that are going to race at Ruakaka coming up and then look at going to the Ryder Stakes,” he said.

“Out of the five, we are looking at getting one there. Keep the Cash would be the pick of them at the moment. He has had one start for a third.

“He’s racing next week at Ruakaka, but the 900m will probably be a bit short for him. By the time he gets to the 1200m at the end of July we should be spot on.”
