Punters were happy to take $1.40 about talented three-year-old I Got You at Matamata on Friday and the Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman-trained galloper didn’t let them down.

Aided by a copy book ride from Opie Bosson, I Got You cruised to victory over his older rivals in the Trac Sports Bar Rating 70 (1400m), defeating Honneur Noir by nearly two lengths despite carrying the topweight of 60kgs.

“It’s hard for a three-year-old against older horses to carry that weight and the second horse is in really good form at the moment, so I was delighted,” Andrew Forsman said.

“We never intended to run in this race, but he had come through his run at Wellington so well.

“He’s always shown a heap of ability but he is really a work in progress and the blinkers on today helped a lot.”
