Princess Kereru is a mare that can be followed with confidence, according to co-trainer Ken Kelso.

“She’s pretty smart and the only time she’s been out of the money was when she got galloped on at Matamata,” he said.

Princess Kereru won for the second time in six starts when she was a game winner at Taupo last time out and her connections believe she can make her mark in stakes company.

“She can go on with it and get some black type,” said Kelso, who prepares the daughter of Pins with his wife Bev. “She’s got a great temperament, she eats well and is a dream to train.”
