Group One-winning jockey Jason Waddell will return to race-riding next week.

The 31-year-old, who was successful aboard Kawi in the Haunui Farm WFA Classic earlier this year, has been side-lined since the autumn.

“He had a plate and screws removed from his leg,” his agent Darryl Anderson said. “He’s been back riding trackwork and rode at the Matamata jump-outs.

“Jason will ride at the Te Teko trials next Tuesday and then at Te Rapa on Saturday.”
