Stakes winner Pacorus has come through his latest outing in good shape.

Pacorus - Race Images Palmerston North

He finished fourth over a mile at Te Rapa on Saturday in his final outing before the Listed Taumarunui Gold Cup on July 29.

“The 1600m was a touch short and there wasn’t a lot of tempo, but he pulled up well,” trainer Chris Wood said.

The Cambridge conditioner also saddled the progressive Wooden Edge to beat the Rating 75 milers at Te Rapa for the sixth win of his 12-start career.

“That was a good, strong win and I don’t think he’s an out and out mudder either,” Wood said.
