Graeme Rogerson doesn’t hide his regard for stable apprentice Ryan Elliot.

“I’ll be very disappointed if he’s not one of the top jockeys next season,” he said.

Elliot rode his 39th winner of the season at Matamata on Wednesday when he was successful aboard Mutechi in the Duncan & Ebbett 1200.

“That was a great ride by Ryan, he’s just gone to another level,” said Rogerson, who trains with his wife Debbie.

A daughter of Swiss Ace, Mutechi boasted a strong form line having finished runner-up at Rotorua last week behind her stablemate Malambo, who won again at Te Rapa three days later.
