Dynamic Eagle is likely to make one more appearance this season before he is put aside ahead of a spring campaign.

"I've had a bit of luck with the family and they do like a bit of cut in the ground, although I think he'll perform on better tracks," trainer Tony Pike said.

"We might look for another three-year-old race for him before giving him a break."

A half-brother by Guillotine to Pike's Gr.2 Wellington Guineas winner Sacred Park, Dynamic Eagle continued the hot start he has made to his career on Saturday when he prevailed in The Frocked Up Girls 1400 at Tauranga.

Successful on debut at Matamata, Dynamic Eagle then finished runner-up at his next outing at Ellerslie.

"He got a bit lost on straightening, but he did fight back well when headed," Pike said.

Dynamic Eagle sat on the leader's quarters at Tauranga and when asked for a serious effort 200 metres from home he quickly put the issue beyond doubt.

"He's still got a bit to learn and the last part of the race he was strong," Pike said. "He's progressive and he's going to develop into a really nice horse."

Dynamic Eagle cruised clear in the closing stages to have two and three-quarter lengths on the pacemaker Amastar at the post with Fully Charged a distant third.

"He did it well and you only saw 60 per cent him today," rider Michael McNab said. "He wanted to do a lot wrong and he's a horse going places."
