Unbeaten hurdler Second Innings has been side-lined by a tendon injury.

Second Innings

"He broke down after his last run at Awapuni," trainer Paul Nelson said. "It's a shame, but even if he has a year off he'll be young enough to come back again."

The winner of four races on the flat and placed in the Listed Taumarunui Cup, Second Innings claimed two easy wins over fences at the Grand National meeting at Riccarton last year before he beat Danza Lad at Te Aroha in his only other jumping appearance.
