Leading South Island jockey Chris Johnson seeks to regain the lead for this season's leading jockey with a near full book of rides at Riccarton Park tomorrow, with seven rides on the eight race card.

The first race, Johnson rides Irish Express. The son of Ekraar is on debut and hasn't had a official barrier trial, so watch the tote.

In the third race, he rides the three-year-old filly Zawhip, the winner of her last two starts. Later in the day, he is booked to ride the Neil Coulbeck trained pair Stitch and Clara Jane.

Johnson is tied with Danielle Johnson with 90 wins each, after she won with Bee Tee Junior from her two rides at Ellerslie yesterday.

In his bid to win his second jockey premiership, Chris Johnson is currently paying $1.45 on the NZ TAB Fixed Odds, with Danielle Johnson paying $2.50. Alysha Collett is next on $16.
