Teenager Sarah MacNab has made an instant impact over fences.

She was successful in her first ride over hurdles aboard Guy Fox, who is trained by her employer Kevin Myers, at Hawera on Sunday.

MacNab began her career as an amateur rider and won last year's Fleur series before she signed on with the Wanganui trainer. She has 12 flat wins to her credit for the current season.
