Group One-winning jockey Troy Harris has launched his comeback to flat riding on a perfect note.

The 28-year-old, who has been plagued by weight issues, is making another concerted effort to further his career and he was rewarded with victory aboard the Mark Forbes-trained Smart Bronson at Ruakaka on Wednesday.

"I actually had my first winner here a few years ago so I don't mind coming back," Harris said. "Hopefully I can start getting some more rides now."

Smart Bronson is owned by Phillip Mak, who also races last Saturday's Gr.3 Rough Habit Plate winner Shocking Luck.
