Cambridge trainer Ross McCarroll and Matamata apprentice Sam Weatherley continued their impressive strike rate together when successful with Inscription at Te Awamutu on Monday.

Weatherley has had 12 rides for McCarroll and been successful on seven occasions with most of that success coming recently.

Inscription's win in the Legg Brothers 1400m came just a few weeks after Weatherley was successful on her half-sister Calligraphy for McCarroll.

Inscription, a three-year-old daughter of Cape Blanco, had been placed in the first of her three previous starts and was soon put in the action on Monday by Weatherley and overcame a home-turn bump to win decisively by three and a half lengths.

"I think she's a pretty good horse," McCarroll said. "She's quite a lightly framed filly but she's got a really good turn of foot."
