Donna Logan's confidence in the Queensland prospects of her unbeaten two-year-old Qiji Phoenix has been boosted by rider Leith Innes.

Innes has ridden Qiji Phoenix in each of his three wins, culminating with success in last month's Listed Champagne Stakes at Ellerslie, and will be aboard during his Queensland assignments.

"Leith rode him in work last Saturday and is staying on to gallop him tomorrow (Tuesday)," Logan said. "He thinks he's the real deal."

Qiji Phoenix, a son of Not A Single Doubt, will make his Australian debut in the Gr.2 Sires' Produce Stakes (1400m) on May 27 then tackle his main mission, the Gr.1 JJ Atkins (1600m) on June 10.
