The continuing problems with the New Zealand TAB website had it crashed for over an hour on Saturday, an embarrassing on-going issue for the New Zealand Racing Board.

The persistent troubles with the website crashing was highlighted during last year’s Melbourne Cup race-day, although Saturday’s meetings were low-key.

A fortnight after NZRB CEO John Allen commented in the increased stakes will be part-funded by doubling the amount of active account holders, this was a humiliating incident.

The presenters for NZRB racing network – Trackside, also failed to inform viewers of the problems with the website.

Further inquiries by www.thefridayflash.com produced the following brief statement today from NZRB’s Manager of Media and Corporate Communications Kate Gourdie: “We are declining the opportunity to comment.” Gourdie said.
