Cambridge jockey Zy Nor Azman will be side-lined for the foreseeable future following a fall at Avondale yesterday.

“He’s battered and bruised and he was knocked out, so he will have to go through the normal protocols before he rides again,” chief stipendiary steward John Oatham said.

The final event at Avondale was deemed a non-race after Nor Azman parted company with Le Moussier following a bump from Brendan Hutton’s mount Dylan De Lago, which collapsed due to a suspected internal haemorrhage.

Hutton was able to walk away, but Nor Azman remained motionless on the track and the remaining riders were aware of the situation and pulled their mounts up.

“I understand both jockeys were discharged from hospital last night with Brendan mainly complaining of a sore neck,” Oatham said.
