The daughter of Jimmy Choux has won two races from Andrew Carston's Riccarton stable and last season she also placed in the Gr.2 Matamata Breeders' Stakes, the Listed Welcome Stakes and ran a meritorious fifth in the Karaka Million.

This term, What Choux Want has finished fourth at Listed level in both the Canterbury Belle Stakes and the Gore Guineas before heading north again.

She finished sixth and less than three lengths off Saracino in the Gr.2 Wellington Guineas, but was then undone by the soft footing when unplaced at Awapuni last Saturday.

"She's spelling in Palmerston North now and then she'll go to Perth, the owner comes from there," Carston said.

"She's not very big and she's done a great job here, but she will be better placed over there and I've got no doubt she will be a Saturday class horse."

What Choux Want is raced by Sam Saric, also a part-owner of the recently-retired Group One Australian winner Awesome Rock.

"He supported me when I started up and I've got a couple of nice two-year-olds for him now by Swiss Ace and Jimmy Choux," Carston said.

Meanwhile, Strowan will take his chance in the Pear Tree Farm Agistment 1200 at the Phar Lap Raceway on Thursday.

"It will be his last run for the preparation before he is gelded and spelled for six weeks so we might as well find out if he can go in the heavy ground," Carston said.

"If he does cop the track then I would be disappointed if he doesn't run very well."

Still a work in progress, Strowan has two wins and five placings from his 12 appearances.
