Cambridge three-year-old Jon Snow will make his Australian debut in Saturday's Gr.2 Tulloch Stakes, a Rosehill feature that co-trainer Murray Baker has fond memories of.

He first won the race 30 years ago with Palliser and was then successful with The Bill (1993) and Harris Tweed (2009), while Rios also finished runner-up (2008).

Jon Snow booked his trip across the Tasman with his last-start third in the Gr.1 New Zealand Derby behind Gingernuts and Rising Red.

"We are very happy with him," said Baker, who prepares the son of Iffraaj with Andrew Forsman. "He's got a great temperament and has handled the travel well.

"He has just kept stepping up and it was a good run in the Derby. He wouldn't mind a bit of juice in the track," Baker said.

The gelding will be ridden by Damian Lane, who recently won the Gr.1 Australian Cup aboard the New Zealand-bred Humidor.

A strong showing from Jon Snow would confirm a tilt at the $A2 million Gr.1 Australian Derby on Saturday week.

Meanwhile, last-start Wellington guineas winner Saracino is booked to travel to Sydney next Monday.

Damien Oliver has already been booked to ride the Per Incanto colt in the Gr.2 Arrowfield 3YO at Randwick on April 8.

Oliver won the Gr.2 Danehill Stakes at Flemington on Saracino in the spring and his was in touch with Baker shortly after the horse won at Trentham.
