This week's inclement weather hasn't dampened Stephen Marsh's confidence ahead of Saturday's feature races at Ellerslie.

The Cambridge trainer isn't fazed about the prospect of rain-affected going for his black type contenders Sofia Rosa, Thee Auld Floozie and Serious Satire.

"Kawi will obviously be very hard to beat, but a wet track will really suit Sofia Rosa and give her every chance to show her best," Marsh said.

"She will have to go close to winning if we are going to go to Sydney. Otherwise we'll be looking at Brisbane."

Sofia Rosa will make the third appearance of her current campaign in the Gr.1 Bonecrusher New Zealand Stakes following two encouraging performances.

She made late ground for seventh in the Gr.1 NRM Sprint and she also found the line strongly for third in the Gr.1 Haunui Farm WFA Classic.

"She's very well and I can't fault her condition," Marsh said. "Getting up to 2000 metres is ideal for her."

Marsh will also hold a strong hand in the Gr.2 Westbury Classic with Thee Auld Floozie and Serious Satire and he doesn't foresee the track worrying either of them.

"I'm pretty happy all round, they will both get through the ground," Marsh said.

Thee Auld Floozie has been freshened since she capped a purple patch of form with victory in the Gr.1 Thorndon Mile at Trentham in January.

"She's not that well in at the weights on Saturday, but she is in good order," Marsh said.

Serious Satire, who was fifth in the Thorndon, has also made excellent progress and like Thee Auld Floozie she has the Gr.1 Fiber Fresh New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders' Stakes at Te Aroha next month on her programme.
