A suspension incurred at Te Rapa yesterday has ruled Opie Bosson out of the Auckland Cup meeting on Saturday week.

Bosson was suspended for five days, from Sunday up to and including March 17, after being found guilty of careless riding on the winner Wide Awake in the final event at Te Rapa.

Wide Awake shifted inwards passing the 300 metres when not sufficiently clear and caused interference to three runners, including the second-placed Sensibility.

Bosson had been engaged for Hushed in the Gr. 1 Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup and either Melody Belle or Gold Fever in the Gr. 1 Sistema Stakes.
