Black Heart Bart took most of the Caulfield straight to wind up and finally get the better of Turn Me Loose to win the A$500,000 C F Orr Stakes on Saturday.

Turn Me Loose might not have won, but his impressive run was a strong sign that he his back near his best.

Trained by Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman, Turn Me Loose lead the field most of the way after jumping out with plenty of speed from barrier two.

When the Darren Weir-trained Black Heart Bart did hit the front, Turn Me Loose refused to give in and chased him hard all the way to the line.

Turn Me Loose banks A$90,000 for his second placing and he is likely to back up in the Group I Futurity Stakes (1400m) on Saturday.
