The Brendon Hawtin-trained Padraig has been sent for a break following his fast-finishing sixth placing in the Karaka Million.

The two-year-old son of Power will transfer to the Cranbourne stable of Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young following his spell.

“He just followed them around last Sunday and ran home the last 600 metres,” said Hawtin. “They just went too slowly up front but the good news is he came through it well.”

An impressive winner at Trentham in his previous start, Padraig will be aimed towards feature races at the back-end of the Sydney Autumn Carnival or Queensland Winter Carnival.
