Group performer She’s A Thief (NZ) (Showcasing) recorded her fifth win from 24 starts and continued her rich vein of form with a dominant on-speed victory at Caulfield when taking the Neds Same Race Multi Handicap (1100m).

The four-year-old mare has an affinity for the Caulfield circuit where she won two-starts back and was beaten less than a length when third last start.

Trained by Michael Moroney, She’s A Thief was perfectly ridden by Daniel Stackhouse and scored by just over two lengths, and her racing career could now be elongated whilst she remains in winning form.

“She definitely was impressive and that’s just the way to ride her,” stable representative Jack Turnbull said.

“If she begins well and can muster, she seems to sustain those sharp fractions. Today it has paid dividends.

“She does like Caulfield and she’s well into her prep but as we know, when mares find their form they hold it. That’s the beauty of this time of year.”

The Gr.3 Cockram Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on August 29 shapes as a likely target for the New Zealand-bred mare.

“I was talking to Mike pre-race and if we can just keep her ticking over then there’s those types of races like the Cockram Stakes at the beginning of spring that we may get her to,” Turnbull said.

“The plan was always to go to the breeding barn but while she’s in form and earning good money we’ll just keep her racing.”

The daughter of Showcasing was bred by Dan Myers and is out of the Red Ransom mare Steal.

She is raced by a syndicate which features Woburn Farm’s Hannah Kettlety.

Kettlety and partner Adrian Stanley purchased She’s A Thief as a weanling for $13,000 and on-sold her for $30,000 at the 2017 New Zealand Bloodstock Festival Yearling Sale to the bid of Paul Moroney. The Woburn Farm couple were able to buy back into the filly who went on to be stakes placed at two and finish fourth in the Karaka Million 2YO (1200m) won by Avantage (Fastnet Rock).
