Darren Weir will not alter Humidor's route to the Caulfield Cup, setting up a clash with Winx at Flemington in the Turnbull Stakes.

Chris Waller and the connections of Winx announced that Australia's best horse would travel to Melbourne earlier than expected and run in the Turnbull on October 7 before aiming for a third-straight Cox Plate.

Waller said the decision to run in the Turnbull rather than stay in Sydney for the Craven Plate is about timing, as it allows a three-week gap between her run in the George Main Stakes and then another three weeks from the Turnbull to the Cox Plate.

And while some may now look to try and dodge Winx, Victoria's leading trainer Weir has said his Makybe Diva Stakes winner Humidor would definitely follow his intended path and run in the Turnbull before the Caulfield Cup.

"We are not changing anything, Humidor is definitely going to the Turnbull and then on the Caulfield Cup," he said.

"We obviously respect Winx but you can't just change your plans for one horse."

Weir said Humidor may be his only runner in the Turnbull Stakes as Black Heart Bart and Gailo Chop are being aimed at the Gr.1 Underwood Stakes (1800m) at Caulfield a week earlier.

The Turnbull Stakes is a set-weights-and-penalties contest with a maximum topweight of 59kg, meaning Winx will carry 57kg due to the 2kg mares allowance.
