A start for the former New Zealand three-year-old Mongolian Wolf in Saturday's Gr.3 Rough Habit Plate at Doomben is in doubt.

"We want to take him to Brisbane, but if we can't get a flight we've put him in at Caulfield as a back-up," trainer Darren Weir said.

"It will all be flight-related, if we can get a flight then he'll definitely be going but otherwise he'll have to run here."

Mongolian Wolf won three races and was Group Two placed in the Avondale Guineas for Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman before his sale and transfer to Weir, for whom he was successful first-up in the Gr.3 Frank Packer Plate.
