Trainer Shane Nichols is confident his Group One winning filly I Am A Star is ready to add another elite level victory to her already impressive resume in Saturday's Gr.1 UBET Classic (1200m) at Morphettville.

"I couldn't be happier with her," Nichols said.

"Physically she looks super, she's going to present nicely in the yard.

"Her work's been good and she's freshened up pretty well. We've got a good gate, we just want a firm track which we should be presented with, so everything looks in order."

Nichols believes the heavy track at Randwick in the Doncaster Mile was the reason behind her disappointing 8th placing.

"She just didn't like the wet track," the trainer said.

"The only chink in her armour is wet tracks."

I Am A Star is a graduate of the New Zealand Bloodstock's 2014 National Weanling, Broodmare & Mixed Bloodstock Sale, where she was knocked down for just $12,000. The 2017 sale starts on Monday.

Meanwhile fellow New Zealand breds Lake Como and Legless Veuve both bring strong form and are good each-way prospects in an open race.
