Hopes of a Group One-winning send-off from Sydney racing are over for Hong Kong-bound trainer Michael Freedman, with his Golden Slipper runner-up Frolic out of the Champagne Stakes at Randwick.

Frolic will be sent to the paddock for a break, meaning she will miss the third and final Sydney Group One race for two-year-olds this season.

Frolic had been second favourite in the TAB's all-in market for Saturday's 1600-metre race. Sires' Produce Stakes winner Invader is now tightening his grip on favouritism at $1.95. Whispered Secret occupies the second line at at $4.50 after her Fernhill Handicap win last Saturday.

Freedman, who returned to Sydney from Singapore last year, is preparing to move to Hong Kong to begin a new phase of his training career.

Frolic was set to be his final runner in New South Wales, but that will now be three-year-old gelding Show 'Em in a Class One race at Hawkesbury on Thursday.

"With Frolic heading for a well deserved spell I will now sign off from Oz racing this Thursday. Sad but excited for what the future holds!!" Freedman said on Twitter.

Frolic's juvenile season included wins in the Inglis Classic and a victory over She Will Reign in the Gr. 2 Reisling Stakes.

She Will Reign turned the tables when they ran the quinella in the Golden Slipper before Frolic finished seventh in the Sires' Produce Stakes.
