Greg Miles' last day as a race caller has been made a little harder with the addition of an extra race at Caulfield.

Racing Victoria has added a 2400-metre open handicap to the Easter Saturday programme, Miles' final day before he retires after almost four decades.

Storms caused the last three races on Saturday's programme to be called off.

RV and the Melbourne Racing Club have also changed a 1600-metre benchmark race to an open handicap to accommodate some of the horses who missed out.

"We have added the 2400-metre race to provide an opportunity for horses to prepare in the lead-up to the 2500-metre Open Handicap at Flemington on ANZAC Day," RV Racing Operations Manager, Paul Bloodworth, said.

RV will also look at opportunities for horses affected by the abandonment of the final three races of Saturday's Werribee meeting and seven of the eight races on yesterday's Terang Cup programme because of the weather.

Former Sydney race caller Matt Hill will replace Miles as Victoria's number-one caller.
