Our Ivanhowe has revelled in the heavy conditions at Rosehill to race to a first-up win in the Group One Ranvet Stakes.

Saturday’s weight-for-age 2000m race was the first time the Lee and Anthony Freedman-trained import had got on to a heavy track since he has been in Australia and the seven-year-old raced to his second Australian Group One win having also won twice at the top level in Germany.

Our Ivanhowe defeated favourite Hartnell by 3-1/4 lengths with last year’s winner The United States another three-quarters of a length away.
